Client referral incentives can be a valuable and inexpensive way to build a business.

The best compliment you can receive from a client is a referral. If you are the small-business owner or in sales for your destination or business, you know that one way to build a client base (on the cheap!) is to get referrals from satisfied clients. But how do you induce existing clients to refer new ones to you?

Just ask!

Focusing on word-of-mouth referrals helps keep your marketing budget in-check. When you’re receiving referrals, it could be a kind gesture to pass on the savings to the referred customer or offer a reward incentive to your clients for their referrals. Rewarding both the existing and the new customer is a great way to show your appreciation. In addition, a simple thank you and handwritten note really sends the appreciation message home.
