Tradeshows: Beyond the Appointments - Chris Shepler

There is more to the trade show than just appointments. Learn how to effectively work the trade show -- before, during and after -- to get a return on your investment.

Chris Shepler has worked for Shepler's since he was in elementary school. He has gone from deckhand to dock lead to captain to general manager of the St. Ignace facility to Vice President. Prior to becoming VP, he raced sailboats professionally with the Heart of America Challenge during the 1987 America's Cup in Perth, Australia. This four year stint traveling the world and competing on an International level was a great training ground for what he currently does on a day to day basis. Working with and around young adults and trying to keep ahead of 190 cast members are one of the few learned items during his sailing years. He does not claim to be an expert on anything, although, he does know that relationship building is something that is important, whether you are taking a seven minute appointment or running 190 cast members during the intensity of a summer on Mackinac Island. His personal anecdote is simple: competition and all that makes up competition makes me tick.
